Photographs ![]() BGS Coordinator Dean Bloxheim gives instructions to the wonderful ladies who volunteered to come in and participate in the registration of over 900 young ladies from across the State of Ohio. Without these giving ladies, it would be impossible to register all the delegates within a two hour process. ![]() Families finally arrive at Buckeye Girls State and take direction from the Ohio State Highway Patrol Auxiliary. ![]() They come from across the state with luggage in hand eagerly awaiting the beginning of the 2004 Buckeye Girls State session. ![]() Before the delegates can move into their assigned housing, they must first come to the Physical Education center to register. ![]() The Girls State staff work hand-in-hand getting over 900 delegates registered and on their way. ![]() The American Legion Auxiliary, Department of Ohio, President Gwen Schroeder is interviewed by Channel 68 out of Mansfield. ![]() Delegates and their families are greeted by the cheerful faces of our registration volunteers. ![]() When asked who wanted to be a future Girls Stater, the little one didn't hesitate. ![]() Once registration was completed the delegates went to order city pictures and the 2004 Yearbook. ![]() The next place to stop is the nurse's station for those delegates who needed to drop off their health forms. ![]() Delegates waste no time in making friends when they first arrive. ![]() Once business is complete in the gym, staff members wait outside to give directions to the delegates' assigned dorms. ![]() After the Girl Staters have settled into their respective cities, they begin their campus exploration. ![]() After the official opening session by BGS Director Stoy, the President of Ashland University, Dr. G. William Benz welcomes the girls to Ashland. ![]() Delegates pay close attention to our guest speakers. ![]() Judge Damien Vercillo administers the oath of citizenship to the delegates making them official citizens of Buckeye Girls State. ![]() A round of applause was given to the guest speaker of the evening, the 2003 Buckeye Girls State Governor, Aileen Robinson.
