Photographs  Chief Burgess, Ashland City Fire Chief, explains what they will be looking for once they enter the building.  We see the Ashland City Fire Department enter the building to extinguish the controlled burn.  The 25 City Fire Chiefs are instructed by the Ashland City Fire Department on what to expect during a controlled burn.  Ashland County Sheriff's Sergeant Jackenheimer explains the need for cooperation between agencies. She is giving them instructions for traffic and crowd control tactics.  The Judicial Branch was also hard at work. Several times during government functioning, defendants appeared before the judge.  The Executive Branch was up to their elbows in paperwork.  During government functioning, Holcshuh County officials are working at preparing their budgets and making sure the county functions well.  Lenhert County officials are busy at work also.  Due to space limitations, the five counties had to utilize one jail. Here we see citizens awaiting their appearance in court.  BGS Governor introduces Ohio Governor Bob Taft at a "Meet the Press" program.  Governor Taft is always a welcome site at Buckeye Girls State.  Governor Taft also took questions from the floor of the assembly.  The House of Representatives hard at work presenting bills for consideration.  Not to be outdone the Senate works on several bills as well.  The Executive Branch also works hard during government functioning.  The 2004 BGS Governor addresses her staff and cabinet members.  Another special field trip for the 25 City Fire Chiefs was a trip to an Ashland City Firehouse. Each Fire Chief participated in holding an operational fire hose.  They also outfitted them with full gear to let them realize how heavy being in full gear can be.  A special picture was taken with the Ashland City Firefighters in front of their ladder truck.  Friday night was a night for entertainment. The delegates attend a pajama party at the gym.  At the party, delegates danced to the music of a disc jockey.  Twister was also available for enjoyment.
